Description

CORE Training is LACASA’s New Service Provider equivalency training. The training will address the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence, child abuse, the impact of domestic violence on children, cultural competency, crisis intervention, and vicarious trauma. Sessions will be facilitated by multiple trained presenters. One session will be held each evening, with two sessions scheduled on Saturday. Each session builds upon the previous one, providing volunteers with a strong understanding of LACASA’s philosophy and the essential skills needed to effectively support survivors. To be considered CORE trained, participants must complete all sessions and any required supplemental materials. If you are interested in becoming CORE trained but are unable to attend all listed sessions, please contact saral@lacasacenter.org to discuss possible accommodations. To register, please email saral@lacasacenter.org.

This training is open to volunteers, interns and community members. Victim advocates from other agencies are also welcome to attend.  Completion of this training is required for all LACASA volunteers who wish to work directly with clients. This includes services like on-call, shelter, and respite care.
