Who We Are
Mission: To nourish and educate our community by championing food access and education to promote a healthy life for all.
The Livingston County Hunger Council is a collaborative initiative established in 2008 to ensure every member of Livingston County has access to nutritious food when they need it through collaboration, education, and community engagement. Bringing together a diverse group of government agencies, nonprofits, businesses, and private citizens, we are united in our mission to end hunger and promote food-for-health. By fostering partnerships and driving community action, we aim to create a healthier, more equitable community where no one goes hungry.
What We Do
The Hunger Council works to address food insecurity in Livingston County through:
- Collaboration: Partnering with local organizations, businesses, and individuals to coordinate resources and maximize impact.
- Advocacy and Education: Promoting awareness and understanding of food access issues while empowering the community with knowledge about nutritious food choices.
- Community Engagement: Hosting initiatives and programs that bring the community together to fight hunger and ensure food security for all.
Through these efforts, we strive to build a community where everyone has consistent access to the nutritious food they need to thrive.
